On 5 December 2011, FIFA rescheduled Austria's UEFA Group C home fixture against Faroe Islands, which was originally scheduled to take place on 6 June 2012. This was done to prevent any 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers from preempting the excitement of the 2012 UEFA Euro that opens on 8 June 2012.
